**IMPORTANT UPDATE 6/26/17**
Within the last week, there has been a confirmed positive case of Canine Influenza in the Greater Baltimore Area. EMRVC is encouraging all dog owners to spread the news and call us for accurate information.

Recently the canine flu has been reported in several dogs in Florida. The source of the infection was believed from animals in dog shows in Florida and Georgia.
Canine flu virus is a very contagious respiratory disease that is spread from dog to dog, or indirectly from contaminated bowls, toys, clothes, or hands of a human. CIV typically causes a cough, fever, runny nose, and decreased appetite. Many unvaccinated dogs can survive and only low numbers have died. To minimize the severity of the disease and the chance of mortality, vaccination is recommended particularly for dogs that board or go to doggie day care frequently, participate in dog shows, and are spending time in kennels in Florida.

EMRVC has the vaccine that will protect your dog against serious complications from the canine flu. The vaccine provides immunity to both H3N2 and the H3N8 strains. Call us to schedule an appointment at
